
What she isn't patient about is eating. Sometimes the drowning takes just a little too long, the caimans pay a little too much attention, or she simply cannot wait to taste fresh blood. So this kill, an unwise juvenile pig too far from its sounder to be helped, is only half drowned as she hauls it ashore, out of caiman reach, and begins tearing in. She has a recklessness to her fervor in feeding, the ambush hunter's wary nature discarded for the moment. It's probably less dangerous than meeting her while she's in the water, so long as there's a meal at her feet. The pig doesn't look to be going anywhere, unfortunate for the pig.
