It's a curious sight to behold -- a tree, but the trunk is thick and warped, smooth and pitted, like a cluster of trees sprouting too close and melded together. What the branches are supporting look more like fronds than the usual sort of swampy leaves. They're wide and curiously shaped, hanging heavy in thick clusters. Air plants and orchids root along the branches, and thick, grasping vines twist up from the tangle of roots at the base of the tree and weave themselves up through the boughs.

The air here feels heavy, and damp. The smell of rain and green growing things is almost overwhelming, if you listen closely a symphony of insects, frogs, and birds can be heard singing from its branches.

The door is easily passed over. A groove in the irregular shaped trunk, a split piercing through what looks like partially rotted wood. The vines grow close here, half obscuring the opening, and flowers hang heavy between the dangling leaves.

Kin step out on the other side into the center of a village, though they best watch their step, because this village resides in the sturdy branches of thick trees. Some will have less to worry about, blessed with wings and the gift of flight. There are tails of all manner, scales, fur, smooth skin, horns, ears of all manner, and any other combination of curious creatures one could imagine on a humanoid frame. Imagination is the limit. Though the form you first take wen entering if the form you will always take on any returning visit.

Those that visit the Canopy will find, once they exit the realm, a colorful feather woven into their hair. They are free to keep this feather, or discard it. A new one will be given with every visit.

The Canopy Village

Surrounded by dense jungle on all sides the village resides in the high off the ground, built into the branches or the very trunks themselves. A collection of curiously shaped huts and platforms with suspended bridges crisscrossing between them and numerous ropes and pulleys scattered about. The huts themselves are generic things, until someone has claimed one, then it will take on the attributes desired by the kin that has claimed it. There is no power to speak of, but the buildings and paths throughout the canopy are lit by glass lanterns filled with dancing fireflies.


The Long House

A central meeting place for the village where kin can come together to share a meal together, enjoy an evening of live music and fruity drinks, or host celebrations or meetings. It it free to use by anyone who has permission to be in The Treetop Canopy.


The Market Place

It's a bit of a marvel of engineering. A huge crafted platform suspended by countless ropes and vines from the thickest trees located to one side of the village. Here the residence or visitors of the village can peddler their wears or barter for whatever they might need. There are clothiers, jewelers, furniture makers, craftsman, fruit and food vendors, and numerous stands selling various types of prepared food or drinks.


The Oasis

Tucked a little away from the village itself, and far below, the trees thin to allow the sun to shine down on a glittering slice of paradise the locals refer to as the Oasis. A series of pools and waterfalls in varying temperatures, from hot to warm to cool or cold, the clear waters and minerals dissolved within have been found to be incredibly restorative and relaxing.

A bright and energetic doe, Serpent of paradise has had a thirst for exploration and an insatiable curiosity for the world around and beyond the swamp she's always called home. Here, she's a pale figure in soft white fur and fiery colored scales. Bright wings extend from her back, and more often than not you will see her flying around the canopy greeting the various kin that reside or visit there.
