He reached the tree with a triumphant laugh.
But upon turning, Once Forgotten was instantly filled with guilt and regret when he saw his opponent staggering up covered in mud. At least the buck seemed in good humour over the matter.
“I’m so sorry! I hope you didn’t hurt yourself!” Though from a quick glance, he seemed to be moving fine. “It’s been a while since I’ve gone all out, that wasn’t very Chosen by the MotherFather of me, was it?”
Though he would privately admit to himself how pleased that even an older fellow like himself still had the energy for a good old fashioned race.
“I do believe I owe you a blessing,” he announced, straightening his stance. The rainbow orbs that floated around his head glowed merrily. “For grace and speed and humility in defeat. May your future children grow to be healthy and strong, always willing to take on a challenge!”
He gave a firm nod once he was done.
“And I am sure, if given the chance. You will beat me next time!”
