[B] Thinking with my heart (Layered Plots x Fierce Warrior)
Layered Plots had expected this to be the result of her little experiment with Party in the Back. What she didn't expect was how quickly she would accept and grow attached to her state of motherhood and her unborn children. She always prided herself for being rational and not letting her emotions get in the way of pure, incontrovertible logic. But now she realized that Party in the Back is her exception to that. Her faithful supporter; her clueless collaborator; her best friend.
At the very beginning of all this, Layered Plots already had very specific wishes for her children in mind. She was keenly aware that a blessing from one of the legendary kin would be her first step to assuring the welfare of her children. But based on her last little prank falling through, it seemed that it would be harder to track down such a being here in the desert than she expected. It is said that they were drawn to those that needed them when the time of need came, so Layered Plots did something she never thought she would ever do--she prayed. She prayed that the motherfather would send an ascended her way. It was really the only thing she could do given that her delicate condition wouldn't allow her to travel to the swamp to find one herself. It made little sense, logically--but she felt it was valid for her to hope that things would work out in the end.

[B] Thinking with my heart (Layered Plots x )
It had been a little while since he had been out here, but Fierce had heard the call, heard the poignant desire in the acha's voice, and so he was here, traipsing cautiously across the hot sand, his tail leaving long, dragging lines in his wake. He was, of course, accompanied by his oftentimes irritating and more than a little frustrating collection of familiars, the wolves leading in front, and the shuppies - squalling, screeching and screaming - in the back, all three of them spending more time trying to dig holes for the others to fall in than actually walking.
"Cut. It. Out." Fierce hissed before he turned back to face the acha, drawing near enough to her to offer a smile.
"Good afternoon," he said kindly, "I heard you may need some help?"

It irked her, internally, that that worked so well. But then, she was in the presence of a kin transformed by the mysterious powers of their creator whom she was about to ask for a supernatural boon for her unborn children, so there was something to be said about applying logical thinking to what is effectively magic.
"Greetings. Thank you for coming so far to help someone so insignificant as me. I have heard that kin of your state are able to give blessings to future children. Though I am a skeptic, I am not blind to the reality of the results. They wouldn't be talking about your abilities so much and with so much reverence if their claims did not hold truth." She sighed in quiet acquiescence.
"Apologies for my rudeness. My current condition has me with little control of my emotions as of late. I do need your help. Can you please help me?" She did not want to debase herself by begging; but the ascended did ask, so she is considering this simply as her answering his question.

"No kin is insignificant," said Fierce, and it was an instinctual response, something that was said with an ease that indicated he had perhaps said it before. It was said with absolute truth, however, at least to Fierce, who had thought of himself much in the same way (and mostly still did). He gave the doe a small smile, surreptitiously using one of his back hooves to shove Breakwater away from bothering one of the wolves without looking away from the acha.
"And there is no need to apologize," Fierce added, giving a small laugh. "I was a skeptic all the way up until...well, this." He indicated his own body with a twist of his head. "It wasn't exactly something I had planned for, and I wasn't exactly prepared to think that someone like me could be...as much as I am."
Clearing his throat, Fierce gave the acha a careful once over. "My name is Fierce Warrior," he said, "What do you think you're looking for, for your children?"

She nodded to him in greeting--she felt like a full bow would be over the top, but she had to give the kin at least some sort of courtesy in respect for his status.
"I thank you for appearing to me Fierce Warrior. I am Layered Plots. I wish for my children primarily good health; but also the intelligence to not be tricked or swindled--as well as to have some of the unique outlook and perspective of their other mother--so that they may perform their own deceptions if they so choose."
She chose her words carefully. She wanted smart children, that was for sure, but she did not want them to just be copies of herself. To inherit some of Party in the Back's uniqueness would make their lives interesting, and possibly give them more fruitful and meaningful lives in the long run. The two desires might be interpreted to go against each other, but what she was asking for was magic. Surely the MotherFather could easily shrug off a little conflicting dichotomy to make it happen.
