He'd heard that his he was feeling wasn't unusual, which was...good, he guessed, but it didn't really help him make up his mind. Maybe he want supposed to?
A white doe was standing in the middle of the path in front of him, watching expectantly, her feathered tail swaying in lazy arcs behind her ankles. When he noticed her she smiled at him.
"Oh," he said, surprised. Then, after getting a better look at her -- a better sense of her -- he added "Oh. You're one of them, aren't you?"
Merry's grin brightened, and she nodded. "Yes! And unless I'm mistaken, you need me." Well, need was maybe a little strong
Fortuitous nodded slowly. He hadn't been actively searching for someone like her, but it'd been heavy on his mind since he'd found out about the babies that were coming.
"So, what is you're wanting?" When he seemed to struggle to find an answer to the question she giggled and rephrased it. "I mean for the babies. What would you want for them."
Even knowning she was touched by the Motherfather, and knowning she had her ways of knowing, it was still a little jarring to hear her refer to to them so casually. He hadn't stood anyone yet.
"Oh, well. I'd like them to be lucky," he chuckled nervously. "Like me." His head tilted, expression going a little more thoughtful. "And, you know, healthy. Adventurous, maybe. Adaptable." He looked up at her, realizing he'd gotten carried away.
In truth, he'd have asked for everything, if she'd let him.
Merry smiled ruefully, like she knew what he was thinking. Then dipped her head reaching for the connect she shared with the Motherfather. It wasn't like muscle to flex, or a feeling, but she knew when she'd managed it. "Done."
Fortuitous didn't feel any differently, but then, why should he, he guessed. "Thank you," he said after a moment, inclining his head.
"No worries," Merry responded, before turning to go on her way. She had her own hungry little mouths to feed.
Well, not as little any more.
