Name Origin: They didn't think she could do it- commune with the bees. The idea sounded ludicrous to the totoma around her. Get the bees to give her honey? Instead of taking it by force?

But she ignored the scoffs and protests.

She followed the bees from the flower fields they roamed, back to the hive. When she would approach, they would protect their home in turn. The totoma doe took countless stings to her flanks as she visited every day. Slowly, they became used to her presence, and she learned ways to bribe and calm the bees until she was victorious in her efforts.

She became an example of perseverance, even though no one envied how swollen and painful countless stings looked to push through.
