[B] I've got a feeling (Elixir x LULL IN SUNLIGHT (MY FAV!))

Elixir was high on life or a feeling or whatever. She had met a pretty kimeti doe and briefly caught a glimpse of a promising future. And one that she did not want to endanger whatsoever. The sun was at its zenith and life held so much promise for the journey of joy the pair were about to embark on. But time had taught her to be cautious. She was a worry wort. And with this started her new side quest: to find a legendary. She had met some in the past, but when you want to find them, they are not to be found. They showed up randomly or just when they were needed like a sixth sense. The kimeti wasn't sure. She wasn't wise to the inner workings of the swamp and the MotherFather. The swamp moved at its own special pace and sequence. And here she was looking for help.

Elixir delicately subsided to the floor and meditated. In her general vicinity was a careful gathering of seasonal fruits she had kept unbruised from the brutal winter snow. For when one wanted to entreat a legendary, using hard sought out food items was a good tactic. And so she waited with eyes half closed should an opportunistic tanuki or snowfox help itself to her bribe.

It'd been awhile since she'd answered the annoyance of a call. Winter, however, had a tendency to make life dull.

Squawking, the gryphon flared its wings. A quick run and jump was all the creature needed to take flight. The scavengers would clean up what had been left of the meal.

It didn't take long to find the kin; it never seemed to take long at all, now. That, too, was rather dull.

With a shrill call, the gryphon dove down and landed a few paces from the hoard of fruit. Then it sat and waited to be noticed.

"That's a neat trick."

Elixir had a problem- a hoof in mouth problem. But desperate times call for desperate measures. Though cautious was her nature, the wicked gleam of this gryphon made Elixir rethink her flattery approach. It probably would not go well.

"I have some fruit, would you like some? I've kept them clean, plump, and they are very sweet. No sour cranberries here. I am looking for a blessing for myself. Is this something of an exchange you would be interested in? All this fruit here for one measly little blessing." She tried to keep the pleading out in the final words.

A trick? What was she, the entertainment?

Lull in Sunlight melted out from the gryphon's shadow, a mere hint before she faded into a translucent figure. She stood with her front hooves on either side of the gryphon and looked at the doe.

"I usually prefer something with a little more bite, but lucky for you, I had a nice rabbit earlier," she grinned, menacingly. She stepped forward and seemed to ooze down to the ground so that she could lie across from Elixir. "You say a little blessing, but none of them are ever little when it comes to the future. Who would want only a little for their offspring?"

That might have been a trick, but she'd let the doe decide. Did she really want a little, or did she want the world for her children? The mare would have bet on the latter as it was what so many kin wanted.

It was not Elixir's first time meeting with a legendary, but today might be her last. That smile brooked nothing nice or good. A warning one if there ever was. She squared back her pink shoulders. Eye on the prize. She had to focus. And if the conversation could shift from a hunting tone to one more conducive to blessing, the better!

The Mare offered a great counter, but Elixir was unsure to accept. It wouldn't hurt though. You never know until you ask. The worst the Mare could do was say no, and she did mention feasting on a rabbit prior.

"I want a lot for these offspring. I want much. If you can give it." She was nervous and not very eloquent. "I want them to succeed in their dreams and be happy."

"As does any parent," Lull in Sunlight smiled, this time without so much threat. She remembered her first clutch and how that turned out; she loved them anyway (most of the time). "Or those who want their excellence and survival," she amended after a beat. There were those who didn't care, but they didn't come to her, obviously.

She hummed, in thought, "Oh, never doubt me, that would be a mistake." A twinkle of the predator as the gryphon readied itself.

"Your children shall know determination and intelligence so that dreams may become reality. They shall be strong of bone and strong of mind, a hardiness that allows them to never give up. And in these pursuits, in this journey, they shall know failure so that they can know happiness when they succeed in the end. No one knows how to enjoy the now without a little sadness along the way."

With a grin, the mare vanished and the gryphon pounced. It bit into one fruit and then, fruit still in its beat, jumped into the air.

Her heart stopped at the sudden bite and hop, but ultimately, her heart swelled with equal parts joy and relief. That wasn't so bad. And Elixir could begrudge the Mare had wisdom thrumming through her bones at such a thoughtful, all encompassing blessing. Elixir forgot to ask for things, and the Mare did not take it as an opportunity to punish. Instead, she was nurturing and sincere. Teeth and all. What a surprising encounter.

Glowing with inner happiness at the fortuitous event, Elixir made her way back to where her better half made a home. They would wait out the last dregs of winter and for Spring to thaw. Good things were coming their way.
