All around him the water was red, like blood or marrow. It was as red and warm as the womb as he drifted in against the beach, with the slow scrape of sand against his flank.

PERSONALITY A lonely buck who is constantly searching for the right doe. Unfortunately, he can become quite controlling when he finds a doe that catches his eye, and this tends to push them away. He keeps a large territory in a fertile section of the swamp and maintains its borders with vigor. He is stern and controlling, but he manages to hide this tolerably well at first glance. His muscular, athletic good looks and long mane of wavy blonde hair help his charisma a bit.
