It was good that she laughed, but wait!
He was a legendary and wanted to do ascended things like bless her brood. Laughing and smiling went a long way to eternal happiness, but a little help couldn't hurt. And she didn't fear his spider form. Scurrying as fast as he could down the log onto the ground, he caught up with her while shifting mid-way to his normal form. Spiders had more legs, but added length and a longer stride trump quantity any day.
"Wait." He did not pant in exertion but it was a near thing. He paused and drew his form upright in an attempt to appear wise and sage. But he was a dancing spider not too long ago right? Sigh, catching the doe's attention once more, he attempted to make right of the misunderstanding from before.
"Your children will indeed find laughter in numerous situations. More importantly, they will be hardy, clever, and strong to face any challenges that come from laughing at everything. May you and them have many seasons of laughter ahead of you."
There. Succinct and helpful he hoped. The doe didn't know it was his second blessing, but he was getting the hang of it no matter how far and few between they were. The sun was at its zenith and patting himself on the back for a job well done, Gloom takes on his spider form once more to scurry up a new copse of trees. Dawn and dusk were the best times for catching anything and he settled in to patiently wait. Or snooze. Bright as ever, the kimeti doe was ahead on her journey to wherever it was she needed to go. And should he sleep, he hoped he would dream of better improve dance moves.
