Thriving on Decay-

It wasn't intentional, but survival instincts have a way of kicking in and overriding all the preferences that comfort and abundance can give. They tasted like dirt, others made him question his senses, and some nearly killed him, but he was still alive. Trapped in the earth after escaping from the previous place, he couldn't get out. Their root structures were invasive and provided sustenance though. And when an avalanche broke the mountain enough for him to escape a second time, he emerged better, and newer. He had adapted and was going to be just fine.

Jiggle Joint

In and out they popped as she walked. A simple stride had its own cadence and music to follow her. In, out, a little jiggle of each socket for her leg joints.

Fantastic Disaster

Fantastic Disaster

An eruption, a flood, and the time miscalculated for high tide that led to a stranding on the sandbar's island. Or when a beehive fell off and an angry swarm  sought to take out their vengeance. That was fun and made the best stories. They were fantastic disasters.

He swims in the waters oblivious to the shadow behind him. The play of light from above onto rough skin catches his attention. The giant swims up to the surface and ducks down immediately, too quick to take a breath. Mimicking the other form, he ascends to the crest for a quick peek himself.
