[BLESS] Cue Applause

Occasionally, it would land but it never seemed to do anything. It should have been boring, she supposed, but it soothed her. The shifting and crowding and tumbling that was her stomach—she let her eyes fall shut and tried to breathe deeply. She would be glad when this part was over. She liked children; she hated pregnancy.

Once her stomach settled, she opened her eyes and yelped.

She'd been alone only a second ago. Except for the moth. And now a ghostly stag lounged in front of her. No one had told her about hallucinations.

"Y-yes," she admitted, hesitant and still not sure he was real.

"They're going to be sea creatures who see creatures. Very adventurous and curious and content, too. Very fond of tentacles or whatever it is that your hair is like."

Masterpiece wasn't sure whether to thank him or argue. She was not having sea creatures; she was having kin. Even if some might come from eggs. But the rest of it was mostly nice. Except for the hair comment. There was nothing wrong with her hair. And it did not resemble tentacles or worms or snakes or lice. At least on land when it was dry and stiff.

"Thank you?"

It must have been enough; the moth took flight and the stag was gone.
