Into Dust was about to tell him "not that one," but it happened - whoop, that was fast.
She watched him for a while to make sure he was sat down, and wandered just a little further to nab more good (but not that good) mushrooms.

3.You seem to have stumbled into a large thicket of brambles. It takes you some time to pull all the thorns out of your sides and in the process of removing the thorns, you lose some mushrooms. (-2 mushrooms)

Thorn is foggily - and cringingly - aware of the doe's presence when he finally came to, but she didn't seem to judge, and he was grateful.

4. Some of the swampland creatures got curious at the kin traipsing through their home. You seem to be making an awful lot of noise and they want you gone asap! They brought you some mushrooms to help speed the process along. (+3 mushrooms)

Oh here they were again, that lil' family of mongooses. They were territorial when she first came, but since she'd left a decent amount for them, they'd calmed down in her presence. They greeted her with some chittering.

"'allo," she said to them amicably, and was amused as they threw a couple of mushrooms at her.

6. Seems like another group of swampland creatures doesn't like you stealing their mushrooms. They perform an elaborate trick of death defying skill while another swipes some mushrooms! (-1 mushroom)

Hearing the cheerful chittering coming from where the doe was, With or Without You, Thorn on his back again, trudged over to see what was happening - and perked up when he saw the cute and friendly mongeese.

"Awww," he said, "aren't they adorable? Oh - they're giving you their mushrooms, how sweet!"

Their relaxed demeanour instantly changed as he nosed forward - just a little, mind - to see the mushrooms they were tossing -

- it was hard for him to relate what happened after it did, but there was a lot of blinding movement, many angry mongeese claws, and a livid series of scratches across his muzzle when it was over.

She was about to warn him but whoops, the mongooses were also too fast. All she could do was damage control - not very well, given how much damage the poor boy had sustained already.

Into Dust dashed over to nip a mongoose off his battered pelt and said "ay ay ay" very severely, which deeply offended the family who hissed and took a mushroom back, thank you very much.

"Oh no, I broke the trust between you and the mongeese," he whimpered, and turned, possibly a little tearfully, to run dramatically away into the woods -

- or right back into the bramble thicket, anyway.

This mushroom is a little slimy and you're not entirely sure if that's a good thing or not. The last thing you want to do is give Bash food poisoning so you test it yourself. That's the only thing you remember and you wake up sometime later in a haze. (-3 mushrooms)

"It's fine, it's fine," she called after him and winced under her thick bangs, "I can just get more, see?"

She leaned down to helpfully nip one up.

Oh dear, that was a good one, a little too good. She'd meant to have it as a reward later, but...

(And she was out.)

"AAAAHHH!!!!"

Was she dead?!! He didn't know anything about mushrooms - he didn't know what to do!!

"Help!!" he cried, rushing back to where the mongeese had been, thorns still stuck in half his side, "help!! help!! She might be dead!! Please help her, little mongeese friends!!"

It appeared the little mongeese friends did not take kindly to his plea (perhaps because they were mongooses), for all they did was mess up his face further, and leave, chittering angrily, with a bunch of mushrooms.
