[B] Unexpectedly expecting [Cracked Facade & ???]

[imgleft]https://matope-swamp.com/images/phoenix ... uncert.png[/imgleft]Well, this wasn't supposed to have happened. He'd known it was a possibility, of course, but naively he'd thought they would be safe from it. When Fox had told him he didn't he could have been more surprised.

He was still trying to figure out how he felt about it, being a dad. What being a parent would mean, not just to him, but to Fox as well.  WHat they were going to do about it, either collectively or on their own. Another conversation was in order.  More than one, probably.

With a heavy sigh the buck trudged idly through the swamp, aimless. His head full and circling.

The little glowing orb of green light bobbed there for a moment and then began drifting away into the Swamp, carrying the message away to its intended recipient. His darling Cue Queue.

He followed it for a time, curiously pleased to see his abilities at work. Despite the rather big shift that came with becoming a Legendary, Once Forgotten thought he was taking to it very well. Much to the annoyance of all of his family and friends, he had figured out how to send messages very early on and wasn’t shy in making sure they received daily love and encouragement no matter how far away he had wandered.

Overall, he was very pleased with his new state. Though the fact that he had yet to be summoned to perform a blessing had been weighing on him slightly.

The orb continued to float away, and with little regard for anyone’s personal space, drifted right past the face of a rather sad-looking buck.

Feeling obliged to be of assistance and also feeling an odd tingle in his hooves, Once Forgotten approached with a smile. “You seem to have something on your mind...” he said, offering the buck a friendly ear if he so desired.

Meanwhile the green orb continued on and disappeared from sight.

Cracked was snapped out of hi sown thoughts as something green and spherical drifted right past his nose.  He blinked at it, perplexed, watching for a moment before approaching steps had him turning his head to take in the buck that had just arrived.  There were more orbs dancing over his head. The younger buck couldn't help but stare at them a bit.

"Er...yes." He blinked again, dragging his focus back down.  "Yes there is.  I seem to find myself, well, expecting."  He paused, and then amended.  "Not me specifically, but, um...but, you know."

Once Forgotten’s ears immediately perked up and the various coloured orbs bounced in excitement. “Yes! Expecting!” He exclaimed. “I know!” He’d certainly produced children of his own and that had filled with many different feelings at the time.

“You’re going to be a father,” he said, reigning his excitement in and giving a much calmer smile. “That’s wonderful.” Which explained the funny feeling in his hooves, a sensation he would be sure to look for in future.

“My name is Once Forgotten, one of the chosen of the MotherFather, here to, if you so wish, bless your future children.”

Ah, he’d practised that one but now it sounded a bit wordy and pretentious.

It was very difficult focusing on the buck when there were orbs of color dancing about above perks ears.  Cracked found his gaze wandering up to them time and time again as the other spoke.  Despite that, he managed to catch most of what was said, and his chin dipped in a little nod of assent before he was resolutely tearing his gaze from the orbs to offer a firmer dip of his head.

"Yes.  Yes that would be appreciated." Being a father was a shock, but he wanted to babes to have the best chance at life they could get.

Ah, there it was, the dip of the head and confirmation that Once Forgotten could now use his most special skills as a legendary for the very first time. These future children would be blessed by him and he wanted to do it right.

The father-to-be didn’t seem to have any strong feelings about what he wanted, or at least hadn’t expressed them yet. Forgotten had heard stories of does and bucks who when approached, often rattle off a list of desires. Strength, happiness, wiles. All were valid.

Once Forgotten wasn’t sure what would suit this buck best and the easiest way to solve that was to ask but he hesitated. The sooner he blessed the sooner this fellow wouldn’t have to worry anymore and surely he would accept anything Forgotten chose to offer.

“Well then,” Once Forgotten said, his voice deepening and eyes closing, hoping he was doing this right. “I will bless your future children with great strength of character and good health. Watch over them well.” That seemed to work, as the tingling in his hooves faded almost immediately and the stag smiled.

The pretty buck watched on with quiet interest, waiting patiently for the kiokote to decide on what sort of blessing would be best. He supposed, belatedly, that he could have thought of something he wanted for his children, but he was also worried that whatever he picked would fall short. He wanted them to have the best, and the best didn't come from a buck that carried so many doubts about themself.

Strength of character and good fortune were wise choices, and as the other buck smiled at him Facade smiled back, grateful. "Thank you."
