Naming:
The herd didn't move around a lot during the hard winter. The only problem with that was one of their main food sources was partially down the mountain, around a large bend. The heartiest of the totoma would have the task of gathering food each week.
This totoma was always up for the job but he never liked the journey. It was too long. He knew it took too much time. There had to be a quicker way. Others had tried but never found any way.
One morning it was time for the group to go retrieve the weeks food. The round trip would take all day. When they left though, the totoma decided to go another way. The others told him he was foolish and to just go with them. He refused and went down the other path. He had to push through some snow covered brush. Then squeezed through a gap that was just smaller than he was. It wasn't a direct path and he ended up going around the left, when the others went more right. Eventually the totoma came to the valley with the bushes! It was still morning too! He seemed to have cut the trip near in half. Happily he grinned to himself and went along picking branches off the bushes, as much as he could drag.
Some time later the rest of the group showed up. They were amazed he had made it before them. The group used his way back, and surprised the entire herd. "Shortcut, which allows us to make two trips a day now!"
