You Only Live Once and Tide Pod had only had one fling. You don't get pregnant from one fling. And even if you did, everything would be fine. But here she was, searching for a chosen one to bless her, just in case. Mistakes Were Made had convinced her that seeking one out was better, just in case.
You Only Live Once was convinced her twin was more excited about her maybe children than she was. He'd spent a while day fretting over her before she left, filled with giddiness and fear in equal parts. He'd sent her off to go find a blessing, and went off himself to go find Tide Pod, should he want to help raise his not-yet-gauranteed kids. You Only Live Once was also starting to think her twin really wanted her to have kids with this specific buck, as Mistakes Were Made had mentioned they could keep trying so the blessing would not be wasted.
She couldn't be mad at him tho, having kids would be great fun, and truth be told she was excited to be a mom, and also for her twin to have his own kids. Being an auntie would be double the fun.
Along the way, she gathered an assortment of feathers and pretty leaves, whatever chosen she found would want a gift.
While poking around in a bush, You Only Live Once came face to face with a glowing eyed mongoose. Weird, mongeese don't have glowey eyes... "Yor ah shozen une!? Pleth bleth mah baabies?" She lets out in a rush, words hampered by a mouthfull of feathers and leaves.
You Only Live Once plops the damp mouthfull on the branch the mongoose is perched on. "I brought you these pretty things."
Acorn is surprised by the appearance of a doe, she had felt a calling to here, and had been looking for a buck. So far she had blessing only males, and had assumed the doe was simply looking for nesting material. But here she is, face to face with an expecting mother who is asking for a blessing.
It takes all of Acorn's willpower to remain calm, to not jump for joy and yell out her excitement. A mother, she gets to bless a mother, finally! Her mind fills with all the blessings, all at once. But which one? She can't give all of them. Well, maybe she could, but Acorn is sure if she did it would send the doe into a panic.
May you children be full if joy and excitement. she sends the thought to the doe, hoping it doesn't startle her.
You Only Live Once wasn't expecting to hear a voice in her head, but also she wasn't expecting the mongoose to speak in kin either. Its an odd feeling, but she's relieved anyway. Her task is complete, so she can go back home and continue her life. At least until her twin starts to fret again. Maybe Tide Pod can help there.
"Oh. Thank you! Have a great day!" You Only Live Once says, carefully backing out of the bush to trot home.
Acorn smiles, gathering her slightly damp pile of gifts as she watches the doe vanish. Her first mother blessing, and hopefully not her last.
