Tidings looked down at the rock, and back again at the Kimeti, with an expression that could have perhaps been called a little sly.

"It is a very nice rock," he said, "I had a pretty good look at it as a snake. But it's not quite as close to my colours as I'd like. Maybe you should keep it. For your lady love, since it looks like her and all.

"Well, I should go," he continued, immediately, "good luck with the kids."

And then he was bounding off down the path without waiting for reply, out of sight before you knew it.
