[ORP] The Royal Rainbow Troupe Impromptu Party Fun Time!

[imgright]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... e_ruri.gif[/imgright] Watch Me’s party was going splendidly, not only attracting some of the more beautiful members of the Fairy Court (his gaze had followed Offering’s arrival all the way to where she’d stopped to speak to Totem) but also a new Legendary. It was the mark of a wonderful time to have kin so beloved to the MotherFather.

Watch Me’s chest swelled with pride.

He was also very proud of Totem for getting so much attention, though slightly worried for the shy little thing to be getting so much new attention without a chaperone. He caught Prize’s eye from over at the bonfire and tilted his head, and after rolling her eyes, she nodded.

“Please enjoy yourself,” Watch Me said to Dextrous, his attention drifting. “Feel free to follow me if you wish!” Then he trotted away, making a beeline towards where Legs, Drown and Parrot were enjoying a chat.

“Parrot! How good to have you here! Have you traveled far? You’re looking marvellous.” He grinned at each of them. “Enjoying yourself, Drown? That foxbun Screech caught looks extra tasty - and Legs,” he gave her a very appreciative glance up and down, “looking upon you in ever a delight.”

[imgleft]http://matope.pixel-blueberry.com/image ... uncert.png[/imgleft]Tremendous caught her mother’s eye and nod towards Totem, who was getting all sorts of fun attention from a pretty Acha and wow golly gosh a big live Legendary! Yes, this was something she could be part of!

The very bright Acha basically ran over, inserting herself next to Totem with a “HI EVERYONE!” and then a softer but no less audible attempted whisper to the red doe, “I’m here for moral support”. Then her gaze slid to Offering, grinning widely. "My dad has the hots for you. He told me."

She looked a bit frazzled "Did you just see... did that crane just..." He followed her gaze to the large blue stag talking to the small red acha. She then looked down to her drink. "Maybe it did. This is a grand party. It wouldn't surprise me if some special guests came to check it out." His voice having a hint of playfulness

Drown was delighted to see Watch Me come over. "I am. After all, I have some great company to talk to." He said, smiled back to Watch. "Would you like some? Or maybe you can offer some to someone?" He winked. "It also seems we might have some special guests about."

With mock indignation, Half Truth tossed her doggy head, flowing upwards into her mare's body. "Oh no!" she wailed. "You've gone and upstaged me with my singular party trick! And now I look like an upstart!" She chuckled, smiling as guilelessly as she could as she sidled up to the stag, wanting very much to make his acquaintance. "I joke, of course. Fancy seeing another here, though as it is, we've never met. I'm Half Truth. I'd remember you, if we had." She was thrilled to meet another like her, and Roses, and Peep, and Wildflower Breeze. The swamp seemed to bring them together at times, and she was exceedingly glad that it wasn't on another obelisk trip. It was a party for a dog- surely nothing horrible would happen here, right? She looked around at all the other animals wandering about. "If anybody else is a shape-shifter, now'd be a great time to join us!"

Legs batted her eyes at Watch Me, then gasped as Half Truth turned back into a kimeti, just like she'd planned. "Look! Look who I brought to the party! We've got two here now, isn't that something?" She nudged Drown gleefully. "I'm so glad your delightful little friend is such a good hunter. They're so big, surely they'll be hungry.

“Special guests? Pets that can turn into big kin?” Parrot Head squinted, her confusion clear on her face. The concept of legendaries was absolutely lost on the beach-dweller. A thought dawned on her, and her face lit up as she turned to Watch Me. “Is that Perfect Star’s trick?”

He smiled warmly and shook out his long mane, the scent of sea spray filling the air, "My name is As The Sun Burns, but you may call me Watch."

He looked around and breathed in the simple joy that hung in the air. "Today is a perfect day for a celebration. The MotherFather must be pleased to allow us both the time to enjoy a day like this."

“I do have special guests,” Watch Me gloated. “Of course Perfect Star only deserves the very best. They must have heard how adorable she is.” But despite his words, he was in no hurry to go greet them. They just weren’t as interesting as other Legendaries, like Rouge.

Though his partial disinterest didn’t stop him from praising Legs. “Ah, this was your doing? Well done! They add such a marvellous atmosphere.”

His wide grin faltered slightly at Parrot Head’s obvious confusion. It hadn’t occurred to him that somebody wouldn't know about Legendaries. They were just a part of life, a very fuzzy part that sometimes slept next to him or also with him in a more romantic sense.

“Oh MotherFather no!” He exclaimed at her last question, the thought of his darling pup turning into a kin after all this time when just yesterday she’d woken him with a smelly dog fart right on his face was terrifying.

“Darling, they’re Legendaries, and while Perfect Star is very wonderful, she is just a dog... I hope. They’re, uh, mmm yes, very fancy kin, with all sorts of abilities, who wander about looking for parents-to-be to bless with various nice things, normally.” He explained, haltingly, head tilted. “I’m not really sure how it happens but it’s all very mystical.”

Drown was a bit surprised that Parrot hadn't heard of legendary kin, Legendaries are such a big part of the troupe, he didn't think that there would be some who never seen them before. Then he realized he hasn't seen Rouge around. He looked around for a moment, then spoke to Watch Me. "Makes me wonder if a certain legendary will show up. I haven't seen her yet." A sly smile creeps onto his face. Screech came over while he was talking, and looked at him with a look he knows too well. Drown broke off a leg of the foxbun he was eating and nudged it towards them. "Your prize for all the work you put in." Screech lies down next to Drown and chews on the leg happily. Totem was practically glowing. Not only was the prettiest acha she'd ever seen talking to her, but then a Legendary greeted her! She curtsied as delicately to them as she could as Tremendous fell in next to her. With a gentle nudge in acknowledgement to their amazing leader's daughter, Totem exclaimed brightly.

"Yes! Hello!"

She hadn't heard Watch Me say any such thing, but it definitely fit.

"Watch Me having the, ah, hots for you is a huge compliment!" She smiled brightly, "It is definitely a lovely party! You're presence has made it that much lovelier."

With an awkward clearing of her throat she turned to the large, comforting, stag.

"There's no interruption! Thank you so much for joining us. It's a pleasure to meet you."

The blue fae doe dipped her head in appropriate polite greeting to As The Sun Burns. Offering let herself look away from the large, interesting legendary buck toward the smaller acha doe who approached. She flushed brightly, shuffling her feet, part embarrassment and part excitement. "That's quite a compliment! I'm glad he thinks so, actually," she laughed, her head tilting from Watch Me's child to the bright orange doe. "He's so funny and handsome... I loved seeing him at the Winter Solstice." Her thin tail swished around. "Everyone with the Rainbow Royal Troupe has been so kind and polite to me. My name is Offering, I'm with the Fairy Court."

"Legendary?" Parrot Head repeated the sound, tilting her head. Watch Me's explanation only made her more curious. She opened her mouth to ask more questions, but stopped. It would be a bit rude to get into that kind of detail at a party, wouldn't it? If Watch Me didn't know much to begin with, she'd probably have to ask a legendary themself. Perhaps something like that was better suited to a one-on-one conversation.

"Well I think Perfect Star's plenty more than just a dog! She's your dog, ain't she? That makes her plenty fancy!" Parrot Head complimented and cooed at Perfect Star. The sight of Drown's spectral owlcat eating foxbun leg made her pause. She couldn't help but stare a bit at the strange creature.

"How... do they eat?" She wondered aloud. Parts of the owlcat were transparent... so where did the food go?

Drown laughs at Parrot's question. "They eat like an Owlcat. Or at least like Screech, as far as I know. Screech is the only owlcat I know, not sure how non spectral owlcats eat. If I'm honest, I haven't seen what happens to what he eats after, but he does love meat. His favorite treat is mice. Screech has been my companion since I was very young and we perform together." He nudges Screech with his nose and they return the nudge with a soft paw boop to the nose. Making a soft rumble noise that sounds like a mix of a purr and a coo.

He settled down, resting on his haunches a fox-length away from the group, watching them all talking amongst each other, reveling in the company. While he had his partner in Rain, he had missed the crowded, jovial state of his home by the river. He smiled, eyes distant. The unique Acha reminded him of Set, his daughter. So polite.

The avian Acha who reminded him of the sweet fruit and musical birdcalls of the beach amused him, bouncing about with surprise and oh so many questions, despite her restraint. How old had he been when he had first learned of walking Legends? Where had he been when he saw one for the first time, live and in the flesh? He thought back to his time with Cue Queue with mixed feelings.

Watch Me knew exactly which Legendary Drown was referring and sighed mightily. “Oh I doubt it. I think we’d have already heard the baying of her hounds by now. You know how it is, duty calls and Rouge does wander far.” It was his fault for throwing such an impromptu party. But at least Perfect Star wouldn’t feel the pressure of performing a trick when surrounded by, well, much better trained dogs.

As Parrot Head and Drown praised his Perfect Star, Watch Me’s chest swelled with pride. “I’m glad you agree. She is quite fancy, isn’t she? A special girl.” He also cooed and a nearby Perfect Star wagged her tail and rolled onto her back to show off her belly for potential rubs.

“I can introduce you to a Legendary sometime,” Watch Me offered Parrot. “Oh, there are two here already but the one I know is especially Legendary. Truly magnificent! You’ll be amazed!”

"An especially legendary legendary? That sounds like a song waiting to be written! Oh, I'd be flattered if you introduced me!" Parrot Head was amazed how many legendaries Watch Me seemed to know, that she was dazzled by the very concept. She couldn't even imagine what they might look like. Her imagination ran wild, thinking of all the possible colors and combinations.

She felt a set of glowing eyes glance her way, and couldn't help but turn to look. It was the blue stag, with the bird around his neck. Parrot Head wasn't sure what to make of his expression, with the glowing being a distracting feature for her. Nonetheless she smiled back at him and excitedly waved at him with her hoof.

Tremendous wasn’t sure why her parents had been worried about Totem because the doe was doing just fine on her own. Just because she was shy didn’t mean she couldn’t talk to other kin.

Despite the legendary being right there, Tremendous had most of her focus on the lovely Offering. She sighed loudly.

“It’s not fair having such a charismatic father. Everyone falls in love with him. Nobody falls in love with me.” All those pretty girls would never be hers when he was prancing about being too handsome and lively.

But her melancholy lasted only a second, as her attention shifted. “Well, you all have fun. I’m getting some food.” Then she was gone, a whirlwind set loose on the rest of the party.
