Cat Scratch Fever

The orange tabby wandered through the dusty and dirty alleyway, his little paws gently padding against the rough surface of the pavement. Eyes flashed in the darkness as car lights sped by.

A brown and white hamster poked it's little head out from under a nearby bin and squeaked at him. What was this cat doing in HIS alley. He had done such hard work getting out of the nearby building that he had established this place as his home. HE DID NOT like it being sullied by the feline.

Fur on end as Fever spotted the furball and he hissed. He listed as Fluff squeaked back at him but then tension died down as they both realized that neither was going for one another.

Fluff didn't like the idea that a cat could so easily eat him up if he so chose. Moving out into he open a little further he looked around. Outside of the cat being present something else smelled different.

Fever gave a little warning growl as the hamster moved closer but did nothing else. Movement made him whip his head to the side and there stood their mortal enemy.

Animal Control.

Fever & Fluff

Fluff charged at the man, his little legs carrying him as fast as he could as Fever yowled and scratched at the man with furious paws and angry bites of his teeth. Fluff finally made his way to the mans foot but there really wasn't much that he could do unless he wanted to climb up his pant leg. Attempting to climb upon the mans shoe proved pointless and Fever lashed out, scratching the man good on his face as he had bent down to grab at the feline. Why wasn't this man trying to grab Fluff? Fluff wondered.

Fever hissed further and the man eventually began to retreat. He had come ill equipped into this back alley fight and needed to go get some stronger gloves and, perhaps, a cage. Fluff was thoroughly confused at this point and looked over at Fever. "What just happened, Why couldn't I climb upon his shoe?"

Fever flicked his tail and turned his eyes upon the rodent. "I didn't hiss at you because I despise rodents you know..." He sat down and began to lick his paw in satisfaction.

"What do you mean then?" Asked Fluff, wondering what the cat was meaning.

"It's a known fact that us felines are able to see what humans cannot. You, dear rodent, are dead. Whatever you are, is an astral being. U N A L I V E. Gone. A ghost." He hoped that he was able to spell it out for the little guy.

Frowning the cats words drilled into him like stings. He must have died in the walls, starvation and dehydration most likely. That last nap he had taken before "escaping" must have been his death..... "Oh... well.. that explains a lot then... Well, good luck with Animal Control." If he had nothing to fear then may as well go exploring. With that he turned and left.

He cared not how the hamster reacted to it's news of having died and gave a small roll of his shoulders and looked the way the man had gone. It was time for him to be off as well. "Farewell Rodent, good luck." He padded off into the night.
