She stood, tall and skinny, on the edge of the stage, her long hair a tangled mess that cascaded over her bare shoulders. There were bits of bark and twigs poking out from some of the mossy strands; torn leaves and crushed petals and, near the end of one particularly unkempt braid, what looked like a cluster of berries all tied together with some rope. She was bony in a way that suggested that if she elbowed you, even lightly, it would probably hurt, but her face was clear, her gaze sharp and intelligent.

The silence stretched out awkwardly. Dorcas said nothing, her eyes narrowed a little, arms at her side. She was wearing a ripped dress that resembled a pillowcase or maybe a bedsheet that had been tied together to be some haphazard attempt at covering herself.

"Today," she said, and flipped her hair. "I'm going to show you the art of hiding. Only some can truly master this particular talent, so watch closely."

She waited until everyone was quiet, then turned, walked off of the stage and disappeared into the forest behind it.

It was another five awkward minutes before the next contestant was hastily hurried onstage.

Setting up her act probably looked more like she was a food vendor than someone showing off her talents. Gourdania carefully placed each of the fruits on the table in a line from biggest to smallest. Watermelon, pumpkin, apple, strawberry, and grape. Each had been carefully chosen for their size and condition, and she hoped the inside would be just as beautiful as the outside. Behind the fruits, she rolled out her toolkit and faced the crowd with a bright smile. She grasped one of the razor sharp tools and approached the watermelon to begin.

The flourish of slices and cuts were quick and precise. Gourdania's eyes sparkled as she cut the watermelon's rind out and her blade glided through the red fruit inside. Within minutes, the regular watermelon was a beautiful rose. She held the fruit carving up to show her work and placed it back on the table. Next, the pulled the pumpkin towards her. The young woman lifted the stem to reveal the pumpkin was already hollowed out, ready to go. Again, her tools sparkled in the light of the stage as she delicately carved away the surface of the pumpkin. Soon enough, she placed an electric tea light inside to reveal the ginkgo design circling it with a warm glow.

Gourdania took to sitting on the edge of the stage for the final three fruits. They were handheld and harder to see, so she wanted the audience to see her in action a little closer. The apple became a swan that she offered to one of the closer onlookers. The strawberry transformed into a simple flower that she ate in one bite while she held the blueberry in her hand. With a giggle, she carved a teeny tiny heart into it before throwing it in the air and catching it in her mouth. Her hands finally free, she held them up and smiled to the crowd before she got to her feet and took a bow.

“But please don’t.” She took the effort to raise her eyebrows for a moment before she went back to reading her intake forms. Some of these data points were…interesting.

Wearing a black and white striped shirt, a black pair of slacks, silent black shoes, a black beanie, and a red scarf on his neck, Placido quietly enters the stage as though pulling himself with great effort to the center of the stage by a rope that no one can see. When he finally makes it to center stage, he makes a show of dropping the inexistent rope and wiping the sweat off of his brow. With a small bow to the audience, his routine now starts in earnest.

He walks to the right and hits an invisible wall. His hands tentatively searching look as though they make contact with flat a surface. When he turns around to walk the other way, he once again collides with a phantom wall. With a worried expression now, he feels around once again, discovering that there are unseen walls all around him. He is trapped in a box, squirming, pressing against walls as they seem to shrink inwards when he gradually looks like he is forced to bring in and fold his arms, bend his legs down, and crouch as he is crushed by the walls.

Eventually he is fully courched, with his limbs pulled in like a ball. Slowly he unfurls and stands, fingers and arms splaying wide like a blooming flower. When he is fully stood up, his face shows fear and shock as he leans far back, legs bending and arms flailing, as though being blown down by a strong wind. He almost falls over before the winds die down and he once again stands upright.

He looks at the audience, freezing statue-still. The lights go out. The audience applauds, interpreting the wordless narrative.

While not usually the sort of thing that made for a good stage performance, Belle was confident she could make her talent work. It was a matter of presentation. Of showmanship. Of lights, and cameras, and confidence.

She stepped up on stage with a sway to her step and a gleam in her eye, lovely face devoid of her usual dramatic make up. A blanket canvas, and she was the painter.

There was a camera set up at a table, palettes of shadows and bronzers and blushes laid out neatly across it, a cup of brushes and blenders to one side. She surveyed it all, made sure everything was in order, then looked up to smile at the audience, her face projected larger on a screen at her back.

Quickly she set to lay down foundation, contouring, highlights and shadows. Blending it all with deft, familiar strokes to make pretty features striking. Quick and practiced and precise. Then she could move onto the eyes, and this was her favorite part. The shadow was bright, a gradient of bubblegum pink and acid green with a bright white highlight at the inner corners of her eyes. After, the liner. Sure, smooth strokes to lay out bold cat eye wings and accent lines.

The fake lashes went on in a flash, then a final brush of mascara. Last, her lips, dark plum with a black liner. After pursing her lips she blew the audiance a kiss, then walked off the stage.

Talent: knife throwing
RP of Talent: Fizz walked up to the stage in a silver metallic bikini, a short, black sarong, and neon green sunglasses. She was carrying a mysterious leather pouch whose contents poked and prodded the sides, changing the shape every step she took. Soon it would no longer be mysterious, as she pulled out the first knife, then the second, and laid them on the ground. These didn't look like real throwing knives. It kinda looked like Fizz was told there would be a talent show, ransacked her kitchen and storage shed for any knives that were about, and threw them all into the bag. There were cleavers, butter knives, pocket knives, swiss army knives, shaving blades, and an envelope opener she grabbed in her haste.

She hadn't bothered to bring a board or anything to throw the knives onto, she supposed that there would be something to stab them into. Fizz looked around and set her sights on a palm tree. She squinted behind her sunglasses and picked up a small knife with her fingertips and threw it. It stuck into the tree, but gravity slowly dislodged it in a matter of seconds.

"Watch your step!"

She picked up a cleaver and flung it upwards towards a coconut, spearing the side. The cleaver landed handle down into the sand with the coconut still sticking out of it. Coconut juice trailed down the handle.

"...And your heads."

Fizz didn't see the point of throwing the rest of the knives. They've seen it. She can throw them. And they stick. And she didn't want to damage her good knives. She did a little curtsy and made her way off the stage.

Talent: Caber Toss
RP of Talent: Though asian in descent, Kim Chul has spent most of his life training to become equal to all the european muscular athletes who participated in freats of strength. He grasps the massive caber, its 20-foot length and 150-pound weight poised vertically before him. With a deep breath, he crouches, generating explosive strength.

He lifts the caber, its base rising from the ground. Momentum builds as he accelerates the log upward and outward, arms extending. The caber's top end rises, then rotates, soaring end-over-end.

The crowd gasps as the athlete fluidly pivots, his body almost a blur, guiding the caber's descent. The log's base thuds into the ground, vibrating from the force. Kim Chul stands tall, chest heaving, sweat-drenched but with a smile of vitory and success on his face.

Noelle pushed her brown locks away from her face in a nervous tick and flattened down her green dress. Letting out a little sigh she looked around at all the talent on and by the stage. Thank goodness she brought her extra bags and containers with her! It paid off to collect various bits and bobs throughout the years. There were lots of talented people here. Her eyes widened at the knife throwing and then off to the left another person was fruit carving oh how lovely! A makeup tutorial?! Oh she definitely needed to pay attention to that, it was so fun to try new products! She did have some time before it was her turn to go so why not?

Sometime later, it was her turn to prove to herself that she could do something like this! Presenting in front of others was not really her thing and she preferred to just blare music then create areas based on the other persons preference. But! Why not go out of her comfort zone and show off her talent. Making her way to the bare palm tree and pulling it into the center of the stage she began. Seashells on strings, warm white lights, silver tinsel, and aquatic ornaments all came together to create a tropical Christmas tree. There wasn't really a tree topper like traditional trees but the other décor spoke for itself and voila! Done.

"Thank you for having me! This was really fun and inspired me to create more. " Noelle left the stage with a smile.
