[PRP] Relax a little. (Boar + Light)

The fairy tribe was not at all Boar's scene. It would be a very useful source of food and prey over the coming months, he was sure, but the overall impression of it was of a spoiled place with soft inhabitants who had never truly known strife. There was the small issue that in the midst of the kin who lived there, there appeared to be at least one legendary, but even they were not without weakness, he was sure.

Mostly he spent his time avoiding the promiscuous ones and resisting the urge to kick anyone who so much as made a pass at him, and trying to eat as much as possible. It was at one of the tables, with his face buried in a basket of eggs, eating them shell and all, that he noticed one kin in particular who wasn't at all part of the festivities.

Licking his lips, he turned to address him. "Not eating?" he asked, yolk dripping from his chin.

"No," he said. Even for one of their tribe, he seemed thin. "I'm on duty."

He had strange eyes, wide for an acha and with a predator's slit, and was fluffier than usual. He had long and twisty horns, and an articulate tail which he kept wrapped around his hooves as he sat beside the table, but not at it.

Boar scoffed out loud at that. It didn't sound like an existence to live. "Well you really drew the short stick didn't you?" he chuckled. "In a tribe of indulgent hedonists and on the job. What did you do to deserve that exactly?" It didn't sound like a job that anyone would volunteer for at all.

"Well." he said. "What is it that you do?"

"Oh, it's my job because of my dad," Light said. "He's in charge of security."

He looked grim.

"I'm a watchkin. I watch and make reports."

[Baneful]

Boar laughed. "A watchkin? Well that's completely terrible. Look but don't touch. Sounds like torture."

He seemed to think about it. "What if you couldn't see? Wouldn't you be able to eat then? There'd be nothing to report."

[Toshiful]

"What, gouge out my eyes?" He startled out the first sounds of a laugh in return. It was just a huff, but it was more than he had done in recent memory.

"There's an idea. I'd probably end up as a listenkin instead."

[Baneful]

"Maybe not quite as extreme as that, you have good eyes." Boar said. "Maybe just someone else covering them up."

He sat down heavily and let his stomach mouth lick up some of the spilled egg white on the table.

"Your life sounds horrible." he said. "Why do you endure it? There's a whole world out there and with all of that, swamp as far as anyone can see, you choose to be a watchkin for some rather lewd fairies."

Light looked confused at the compliment on his eyes. He knew they were odd.

"It's my responsibility," he said drearily. "Everybody has a job. Even the actors. This is just the one I need to have. And..." His voice dropped more confidentially, "He'd know. I'm not the only watchkin."

He always found out about every snack break, somehow. Even when Light was sure the only ones watching him were the trees.

Boar smirked. "What if someone kidnapped you?" he said. "Then it wouldn't be your fault."

"He'd know about that too," Light said. "He's kind of important. That makes me important too, I guess. I'd rather..."

He looked out over the table's spread.

"Not get in trouble?" he said.

[Baneful]

This kin was one of the most tragic situations he'd ever seen. "You aren't important if you are a watchkin." he said. "That's a nobody. It doesn't matter who your blood is, you make your own decisions and your own life. Why should people not even part of your tribe be able to do what we want while you can't even join in in the festivities? You are a servant if anything, and you don't look like someone who should be a servant."

He moved over to stand closer to him than before. "I'm important." he said. "Not here perhaps, but in my own tribe. I'm certainly not afraid of the supposed ears everywhere."

"There's nothing sadder than a kin who can't even see the situation he's in."

[Toshiful]

Light huffed out a sigh. "So you can do whatever you want."

He looked down at Thor's other set of teeth.

"If I was in charge, I'd taste everything and be responsible for reporting that."

[Baneful]

Boar grinned with all his teeth, every single one bared up to his golden gums. "Well." he said. "Yes, I can. And so could you."

He tilted his head. "Because, you know I could use someone as a head taste tester. I don't have one of those in my herd. Someone who could find the really delicious things and report back. It would be useful, I prefer to eat quality over quantity."

[Toshiful]

Light nudged Boar a little with his shoulder. "Ah, thanks for trying to cheer me up. It would be great, a job like that. But I know my dad. He definitely wants things watched, not tasted. I'm sure your herd's great too. They do a lot of tasting, huh?"

[Baneful]

Boar nodded his large head. "Everything you can imagine and probably some things you can't. The central rule of my particular herd is that when it comes to food, there are no taboos, there's nothing that cannot be tasted.." he smiled again. "At least once."

Normally his interest in other kin, especially ones from far off places was less than that afforded to a delicious slab of meat, but given the option of anything in the world, this particular kin had chosen a world where he could taste all things. It showed a thread of something in him that ran close to what was at the very heart of Boar himself.

"Every kin grows up." he said. "You don't need to be under your father's hoof if you don't want to be."
