Her family was going to grow once more. Her children from prior clutches were strong, fierce, brave and true in the face of dangers and adversity and she had not got been blessed when she had them. Yet.. yet.. this time, she thought she should seek out the legendary kin of the swamp if just to see what all the fuss was about.
So she had spoken to the others that had sought out a blessing, and with an offering of blooms layered in a turtle shell, she had started out on her journey to find one to bless this clutch that was just starting to grow inside of her. She stride out determined, pulling the shell behind her on a rough vine rope as she went.

Would Burning Legion remember her? It was a bit of a strange thing to be so entertained by, and yet, Roses in Bloom found herself particularly tickled. In the form of a swan, she began waddling after the familiar doe. She wasn't going to make her walk terribly long, gracious no! But it would be funny, at least. Particularly to see if the doe recognized her colors in this form. For now, the wide-eyed swan toddled along after her, the slap of bird feet on the mud louder than she'd expected.
Legion swirled, at the sound of slapping feet and snorted, nostril flared at the swan behind her. She stared at the creature, tail flicking behind her and huffed slightly. A bird.... perhaps? She seemed familiar but she couldn't place where. She tipped her head, thoughtful, letting the vine drop and sighed. "Well, if you are a kin, I would hope you wouldn't merely leave me talking to thin air," she said finally, giving the swan a thoughtful look.
"If you belong to someone, I suggest you go, before I get hungry and decide you are a delicious dinner." She flicked her tail, a slow wide arch, back and forth.
The swan gave a trumpeting noise, something that must’ve been amusement, perhaps a little bit off put. In the time it took to blink, Roses in Bloom was there instead, a wry smile on her face.
“I should hope you wouldn’t find yourself inclined to eat an old friend. I’m afraid I’d taste off,” she mused, clearly in good spirits and tickled by the whole thing. Threats of eating? Well. It wasn’t as though she was one of the swamp’s larger creatures, and she’d made a meal of birds plenty of times herself. It wasn’t entirely unreasonable.
“I’m probably rather lean, I’d think. Not much flavor to me. But... this isn’t too much about me, is it? How are you, my dear?”
"Ahh... you." She said flatly, as she tried to remember who it was. It had been awhile and it took a moment for it to trickle back into place and she snorted and sighed. "It would be you wouldn't it?" She said a bit more amused as she look Roses in Bloom over. "Got to be more special then when I last saw you." She shifted back, resting her weight on her back legs.
"Fine enough. My children are well, my herd is well, and well, I'm increasing my family again." She was pleased with herself, eyes gleaming in pleasure. "Though, I wonder how they will turn out." She had not been disappointed in Warcry but now there was a faint concern about her children if they did take after the zikwa. The unknown. It picked at her mind giving her less then pleasant scenarios.
Rose found herself actually pouting, lip out and ears drooped at the doe's response. Not laughing, or even smiling? That wasn't fun. But, well. It wasn't as if Rose herself had been so jovial all her life. It wasn't a fair expectation that just because she was in a joking mood, Burning Legion would be. She put the expectation from her mind, and went to sit with the other doe.
She nodded along as Burning Legion talked of her family, her heard. Catching up like this was nice. Hearing that the doe, for all their differences, was faring well, was nice.
"I figured there were more little ones on the way. Otherwise, well. There wouldn't have been the pull to you," Rose laughed, gentle and soft. Her head tipped to the side, and she blinked.
"Warcry a Zikwa and it just... different." Legion sighed, wrinkling her nose. It wasn't right but it was true. "I have no issue with that it is just, all my other children have been Kimeti and I know what to expect with Kimeti... not so much with Zikwa." She stomped a foot, hoof sinking slightly in the mud and pulled it out with a gross slurp.
"Ugh, anyhow I brought you flowers... just be careful with what you do with them. Some are medicinal, some are just pretty, and some are edible." She tossed her head at the shell.
“No no, the unexpected is scary. Being unsure of what lies ahead... I struggle with it, too,” Roses admitted, nodding gently. How much of her life had been reluctance to leave the life she knew? Patterns of familiarity, things she had once loved? She watched as the other Kimeti stomped her foot, and tried to offer her an assuring smile.
“Differences... I found my life enriched when I embraced them, learned to accept it. But I can only speak for myself. If I may, though?” She asked, a hint of a giggle in her words.
“You’re a strong, smart doe. I’ve seen that much when we’ve met. I doubt that any child related to you will be anything but. In fact, I’ll offer my blessings towards that. For your children to carry your strength, and for you to find joy in their differences.”
That was fair, wasn’t it?
“Ah! Flowers! Absolutely perfect,” she beamed, standing up and lopping over to the shell. Roses smiled, leaning down to smell them.
"It was nothing," Legion replied, giving a short nod to the shell of flowers. "A trifle really." Niceties saw to she considered Roses words, and her blessing. She flicked her tail thoughtful.
"Thanks..." She started hesitant but getting a bit stronger. " for letting me talk, and just get what was bothering me out." She said finally. "And the blessing." That was what found her out here, seeking her out.
