Appealing Dreams

Spider webs scatter through the tree branches.

From below, gazing up, the stars are joined.

The land is scotched, the dirt is dry.
Underneath the rocks for protection, I hide.
I know these scales can only protect me so much.

Hooves of a kin pressed against the side of a tree to make a satisfying sound that filled the air.

[Appeal]

The swamp water rised so much that many animals found themselves in dire need. On top the shoulders of one brave doe, the weight of the world never rang so true as she crossed the rising waters to bring them to safety.

Falling down, the mud slowly consumes until only ankles are visible from above.

[Appeal]

Flocks of male acha danced in the desert at night, forming a tight circle with their horns entwined as they tried to entice the spectating ladies. All that could be seen was the half moon shape of their horns from one side.

Darkness consumes endlessly until nothing remains.

A turtle crawls across the sand. Surrounding it is other turtles. It tries harder.

The sky had a road less travelled, much less danced upon. A beautiful dance was performed where no one would bear witness.

The world is out there waiting

Soreness surrounds my leg.

I keep walking.

Tightness fills my muscles.

I keep walking.

Remembrance engulfs my thoughts.

It's not new.

Laying on the ground surrounded by grass, the sky opened up above. A cat ran for shelter, leaping overhead. Behind them, a dog chased them, following their path.

The hooves walked.

And walked.

And walked.

Don't stop.

Two kin stared back at each other, mimicking each other perfectly. The reflection would win in the end.

The night saturated the world, and then when the sun rose it imbued it with life again.
