Butterfly preened and hummed a song she had made up but was sure was the perfect lullaby for her unborn. She had to look good in case she ran into someone who she was hoping to run into. No one had exactly told her how to find someone to bless her first brood, but that if she kept searching, surely someone would be found.

She hefted herself back up onto her hooves and started to walk again, humming the same made up lullaby that seemed to change keys and notes at random.

"Don't you worry" she crooned to her midsection, getting heavier by the day. "I will be sure that you will be as close to perfection as possible." Couldn't be too much more, they were already one half of her and that was already a lot of perfection.

A small Acha stepped from the bushes, shaking off some leaves that had gotten stuck during her transformation from foxbun to kin. She smiled warmly at the Kimeti doe and hummed the same lullaby back to her.

“It’s beautiful.”

"Thank you!" the doe said pleasantly. "It is something I made up especially for my babies. Only the best for them." She nodded firmly. She looked back, and forth, and then blinked. Where had the acha even come from.

"And I'm sure they will love it," she assured the doe, already imagining the pretty Kimeti humming softly over her children.

Peep gave a sweet nose-wrinkling smile.

"Will this be your first time as a mother?"

"Oh! uh..yes!"

The doe looked a little shy at this admittance.

"But I'm determined to be the best! That's why I'm looking for an elder to give them a blessing! We must have the best start!"

A determined nod.

“That’s very wise of you,” Peep said. “Well then, what shall they be blessed with...”

She tipped her head from side to side thoughtfully.

“They should be healthy, of course - as well as kindhearted and understanding. How does that sound?”

"Ooo!" the doe trilled happily. "Yes, yes, those things! And maybe some courage!"

Amused by the additional request, Peep chuckled and shook her head. It wasn't every day a mother tried to add to a blessing.

"I think they have been blessed enough. They will have to find their own courage and it will be your job to nurture it."

Butterfly had her mouth open, a list queued in her mind to rapid fire request, but closed her mouth and smiled sheepishly.

"Ah ha...Of course! I already have a slew of excellent qualities in preparation in order of importance. That I have run into you and you have kindly granted a blessing means several are already checked off. So I am ahead of the game already." a nervous laugh.

"I am sure you shall raise them well and diligently," Peep told her and then added softly, "but also try to let them be themselves."

She dipped her head to Butterfly. "Farewell for now."

Then she was gone, a foxbun on the move.

@Astraea Pandora over!
