The brethren of stars in the sky had always been a longing and a companion; there she found advice and answers. It was dark tonight, though, and for all the lights that glittered in that endless black that must have been rich as velvet, the weight of her belly had her looking down.

The world felt different, bigger and more complex. It had changed little for her but there was so many new things being sighted and whispered about that she worried about how these children would grow. She wondered if they would see or be near-blind, would they look to the skies or to leaves? Would they stay or adventure; would they love or hate? It went on endless, a circle that fed upon itself. She sighed and tried not to gnaw through the stems of orchids and lilies she'd brought as an offering. Stalks would be less appreciated than buds, she was sure.

Look-See favored her flox form. Her nose was much better suited and sized for sticking into flowers. She enjoyed the small and large blooms much more that way. Even with her shoddy sight, enhanced sense of smell was magnified on the flox. Plus her tail was mighty bushy and beautiful she imagined. However, her kimeti form was better for eating up distance. She did not have the longsides of her larger form, but this smaller form suited her purposes fine. Waking up from her nap, she continued looking for florals that suited her fancy. Though the Crescent Bay was a wonderfu ltribe, she couldn't quite reach the underwater flowers and there weren't many interesting blooms in the surrounding area above the waves. Nose in the air, she ventured forward.

She wasn't entirely sure what she was looking for nor, until now, had she realized just how far she'd gone. Really, it was probably just the fatigue from living ones inside of her growing. She wondered sometimes if she wouldn't have been happier, sleeping for the entire pregnancy. It might have been a little bit easier anyway.

With a stretch, she folded herself down gently to the ground. She could rest a moment. As long as she didn't fall asleep.

"I wonder how they do it," she started, thinking out loud, "getting from one in need to the next..."

It was dark and Look-See was blind as a bat so of course she barreled into the half asleep form, the other doe's words be damned. For lots of things, it was one ear out the other and before she could register the ramifications, she bounced back from a soft, squishy rump. Not a bad place to curl up to sleep if she knew the kin.

But out of sorts, she meowed incessantly like the small barky canines she's come acrossed in the deserts.

"Oh, careful," the doe began to reassure the squeaking creature. She frowned at the one lily with ruined in petals and pulled the other flowers closer to her. It was an accident but who knew if she found a stag or mare if they would take offense at a ruined offering. She would rather not take chances and, once sure the flowers were protected, she turned her attention back to the flox.

"You're all right," she tried to soothe. "Do you like flowers?" she smiled, nudging the free petals towards the critter.

Quick. Look-See's saving grace was her wit and agility. She darted towards, sniffed at the blooms and tried to run away with the stalks until she realized the issue. She could not take many in her small form. Meowing pathetically, her frustration turned to anger and she shifted to her forms. This meant she was face first into the curve of the kimeti doe's leg. A weird, intimate position, she paused, contemplating to take the stalks or move away completely.

She backed away. Hummed to herself and shook her hair a bit to buy herself some time to formulate a response or anything.

"Ah, hello there."

An awkwardness befell and she kept herself still, choked the nervous laughter in her throat, before wheezing, "Oh you're big."

It felt like it must have been a year that she felt herself grimace and groan and sink into embarrassment though it was only a second before she was trying to cram the words back into her own mouth.

"You're not big, I mean, well you _are_ big but you're not bad big!" She took a breath, "I mean, compared to a flox, you're big and so close makes you seem bigger..." She trailed off; there was no way to save it. More words made it worse and she considered digging a hole just to bury her face in so that she could die quicker.

"I brought these for you, the flowers," she tried. Still awkward.

"I am a flox and now I am not." She deadpanned seriously as she didn't know how to respond or react in this certain situation. But thank fuck the other doe had the grace to shift the conversation back on track to more familiar ground. Okay, cool. A gift.

"I love flowers. They are my favorite." A practiced toss of her head to display her overabundance of petals, some squished and others in various states of freshness. "Thank you." She craned her head and bumped several times to get the angle just right before picking up the bundle. And then placed them down by her feet protectively between her front hooves.

"Thank you for them. Were you looking for me? For someone? Before I ah, bumped into you?"

Starwrit let out a breath, then smiled and nodded, "Yes. I am expecting children and, the world seems to be changing so fast, that I wonder about their futures. I came to ask for a blessing, if you have the time."

Look-See was overjoyed. This was the out she was looking for. Even she knew it wasn't polite to run off after someone gave you a beautiful bouquet. A quick "thanks" was what idiots did and she liked to think she was a bit more. She was a Mare after all and reflected back on the MotherFather. She wasn't completely daft.

"For your generosity, your labor will be relatively fuss-free and they will come out strong and ready to fight the day while gentle enough to enjoy life in the present and stop to smell the flowers." That was a lot of words rushed out, but the informal exchange completed, she grabbed the bouquet and hightailed it back to the tribe.

"GOOD LUCK" she warbled around the flowers, fleeing fast to enjoy them in private.

"Thank you!" Starwrit called after the mare, pleased. She'd start back tomorrow. When it was daylight and she wasn't ready to sleep.

She yawned and curled down for the night. Content.
