It may come as a surprise to hear that Shiny Thing liked shiny things. Quite a lot, actually. It felt like they were made for her. Or maybe she was made for them....Either way, it just felt right to love the things she shared a name with. So, when the kiokote buck asked for her help in collecting some shiny, sparkly, glittery gems she accepted immediately. She bounded over to the indicated cave with perhaps a little bit too much enthusiasm and held her breath in anticipation as she stepped inside.

"Hmm..." This was...not what she was expecting. Where were all the giant, multi-colored crystals protruding from the walls?? Was this the right cave? She stepped closer to the cave wall and inspected it with a scrutinizing eye. Oh! There was a little sparkle of purple embedded in the rock. Well, maybe not what she was expecting, but still shiny! Time to get to work.

And while these gems were meant for the buck's tribe to use for trade, Shiny Thing decided that it wouldn't hurt to keep one or two for herself. Right?

6. You find some a small, dull crystal. It doesn't look like anything special, but maybe beauty can be brought out of it. (+1 gem)
Shiny Thing kicked at the cave wall until a chunk of it came flying off. It was mostly boring, grey stone but sticking out of one side was that pretty little purple gem she'd spotted. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it was still shiny. She gave a giddy giggle as the rush of excitement came back to her. She'd found her very first gem! Now, let's find some more!

And it would seem that dull little purple gem would be the only one Shiny Thing would find on this expedition. She spent a good long while after her first success searching for more gems, but she just didn't have the eye for it. Nothing else stuck out to her. Feeling a bit defeated, she left the cave and returned to the booth. It was a genuine struggle to decide on handing over the lone gem. She'd really wanted to keep it for herself. But she also didn't want to look like a complete loser and finally relinquished her shiny to the kiokote buck.
