The return of Hybridic

Hello all! My name is Harper and I go by hybridic/harpbrarian online, depending on where you find me. I joined Matope on Gaia way back in...2010, I think? And was around for a long time until life sucked me away. I have reappeared semi-anually for a while, usually when I get bored and stir-crazy in the midst of Maine winter, but always seem to disappear again.
Excited to see this forum site separate from Gaia, and now that I am on Discord much more because of that virtual work-life balance, I'm hoping I'll be able to stick around more consistently -- though I will probably not be able to keep up with RP and everything the way I used to in the glory days, hah.
For those of you who don't know me already, I am a nonbinary trans person and I use he/him & they/them pronouns. I am a teen librarian at a public library in Maine, a member of the North Star YA Award selection committee, and I write audiobook reviews for Audiofile Magazine ... all of which is to say, I read a lot of books.
My partner is, in the strangest coincidence of my life, also named Harper, which is how we were introduced -- and now have been together for over 10 years! We bought our first house in March of 2020 and moved in literally the DAY before COVID quarantines started in our state. We also just got married in a very impromptu and semi-secret ceremony during our 10 year anniversary "party" (immediate family) this past summer. We have two cats, named Wyatt and Valhalla.
Most of my interests tend toward librarian-y things and I am an avid reader, especially of sci-fi/fantasy and speculative fiction, and of course a huge amount of Young Adult fic as well. I used to be a big knitter, though carpal tunnel issues have made me less able to do that consistently in recent years, and I like to make collages with weird old discarded book imagery. I enjoy video games but mostly just play Elder Scrolls Online recently.
Most of my online presence is book & library related, but if you are interested, I can be found at:
