It was exciting, the idea of being a mother again, just the circumstances were rather confusing. She for certain hadn't spent any intimate time with another kin who could have made this possible- in fact, she'd spent nearly all her time in the company of Clouded Mercy for the past several months. There was one night in particular- the night they'd found a strange flower -that kept coming back to Heart when she tried to wrap her head around this mystery. The memory of it felt more like a dream than reality, and she honestly felt parts of it had to be a dream. But Heart wasn't going to question this gift too much. Instead, she sought to ensure that these miracle foals had the best chance possible and that meant seeking out one of the motherfather's chosen kin.

Her wolf could find himself a rabbit, or a mongoose; the mare herself had, instead, found herself a bush that was heavy with overly-ripe berries, just this side of fermenting, sweet enough to satisfy.

It meant there were blotches on one side of her throat like blood when she heard someone approaching and lifted her head, antlers brushing against low-hanging branches as she did.

Heart was so wrapped up in her own thoughts that she hadn't noticed the rustling of someone else nearby. So, when a pair of antlers rose up from behind a bush and rattled the tree branches above, Heart nearly jumped out of her skin. And then she saw the rest of the kin attached to the antlers. Of course it was a kin, what else could it have been? She couldn't help but laugh at her own skittishness. Taking a breath to clear her nerves, she moved in closer to the other kin.

"Hello?" And as more of the other kin became visible from behind the bush, she noticed the dark red spots on her neck. "Oh no! Are you alright? Do you need help?"

Light in the Night cocked her head a little, eyes raking over the doe -- the flip of her hair, the brightness of her eyes, the slight swell of her stomach. She chewed the berries she had in her mouth, shaking some leaves from her antlers and taking another, considering step in toward the doe. Light in the Night wasn't a talker, didn't need to fill the air with the sounds of her song or idle questions.

Instead, she let the silence draw out as she drew in closer, chewing over words, trying to figure out how best to respond. Eventually, she shook her head.

"What do you need?"

The question completely threw Heart off guard. Here was a doe, covered in blood from a grievous wound- as far as Heart could tell anyways -and she was asking what she needed. All she could do was stare in confusion. But eventually the pieces started coming together, making sense of the situation. The other doe's extremely calm demeanor. The sweet scent of crushed berries. The obvious bush laden with berries right next to her that Heart had failed to notice. The fact that this other kin was very clearly eating something. That wasn't blood on her neck...

Once again, Heart found herself laughing at her unnecessary reaction. "I...I thought you were injured. I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were just eating." She gave the doe an apologetic look and actually took in her appearance for the first time. Heart had never come face-to-face with a legendary kin before though she'd heard about the unique features they possessed. This doe didn't look all too different from any other kimeti, but something about her certainly felt very different. She considered the question that had been posed. "I'm...looking for someone to bless the foals I'll be having soon."

"Hmmm." Light in the Night had a soft touch; a gentle smile; maybe a little distant. She did have a slightly unnatural edge, something unlike other kin, and maybe that was part of being an ascended kin. The brightness of her eyes spoke to it, the sweep of her tail.

Or maybe it was just her own strangeness, the sheer amount of time she spent alone. Maybe that was also what made her voice soft, almost too soft, a gentle rumble. "You're looking for me?"

"I...I think so. I'm not sure." Suddenly feeling very self-conscious, Heart shrunk in on herself and looked away. She should have brought something, some sort of thank you offering. She should have planned ahead, thought about what she was going to say. She should have brought Mercy along for support... But she hadn't done any of that. "I've never done this before..."

Other Legendaries made demands of the kin that came to them, but these days, Light in the Night was fiercely independent. She wouldn't have taken a gift had it been offered. Instead she hummed, and stepped in, not letting Heart pull away from her, not when she'd come all this way for the help. It let Light in the Night brush up against her, lean into her, and from the point of contect came clarity.

This was her power: that sense that things would be alright, a gift of certainty to Heart. She breathed out a sigh and shook her head a little.

"You don't need me." It could have been dismissive but, from her, it was not. Not after the touch, which made it crystal clear to Heart exactly what she had to do to make sure her offspring came out whole and hearty and healthy. Happiness would be another trick; happiness might take more trial and error. But she could manage the pregnancy, at least.
