Things had been very odd as of late, what with the whole light situation. For what seemed like an eternity the sun had never risen, darkness had swallowed up the lands, and Rise to the Challenge found that only thanks to his glow was he able to maneuver the swamp. Now bursts of too-bright light came and went, some places still shrouded in darkness, pockets of light that seemed permanent here and there. Something was up and Rise wanted to figure out what.

Due to the everlasting darkness he hadn't been able to travel much, sticking close to the parts of the swamp he was most familiar with, but now that there was a bit more light than usual and his eyes had gotten used to using the dim, red glow that emanated from him, he found the urge to travel to try to figure out what was happening was insatiable.

His wandering had him come across other kin who told him stories of what had transpired in the past month or so. Floating motes, kin that glowed, a great stone in the earth that was shattered, a pillar of light, the harbinger and legendary kin and talk of gods-

It was all a bit much for Rise. He took this stories with him as he traveled, unsure of what he was looking for. So far the stories all matched up but something wasn't sitting right with him. Why would all this happen? What had caused the light to disappear in the first place? No one seemed to have those answers, unfortunately, so on Rise walked, hoping that eventually his hooves would lead him to an answer that he found acceptable.
