Rolling to see who goes first

Story Untold was quite excited, though she didn’t particularly know that things were going to resort into these tactics. Far better than any alternatives she could dream up, better to be hit with mashed acorns instead of a rock.

It did seem a bit childish but everyone was seemingly having a good time so might as well join in right? Looking across at the mouse that was scurrying around she fluffed her feathers and smiled. Feathers? Looking down she was indeed a MarshFowl. Interesting. She was able to throw with her feet and grasp things now so perhaps this was going to be more interesting than she thought.

The buck, having wandered into a rather noisy section of the market mostly out of curiosity, found himself no longer a buck. He wasn't that surprised, considering his experience with the party he had attended earlier as a lunar moth, but it was always so sudden. However, the one benefit of these strange visions is it never seemed that strange in the moment, so the pale mouse, very obvious in the crowd for his bright glow, skittered around, pausing now and again to examine or smell some new (or even old) object with his small hands and wiggling nose. Everyone seemed quite engaged in whatever conflict seemed to have occurred before he arrived, but perhaps his late entry saved him from... whatever it was that seemed to be riling everyone up. Grabbing a small berry tentatively with his little hands, he took a what ended up being a small nibble, nodding happily at the taste.

It wasn't long until she found a worthy target, the opponent was every bit her opposite, small and lightly colored, as she was larger and darkly colored. Eyeing the pale mouse the green feathered marsh hen grabbed a berry and took aim. She never claimed to be very good at this kind of stuff but figured she'd try her best. Releasing the berry it soared across the table and found it's mark.

Figure it's easier to track this way :)

Shadowed Moon, completely distracted by the tasty food before him, completely missed the tasty food being thrown at him at top speed from the sea colored marshfowl behind him. As such the only reason it didn't completely splatter all over his small body was because the marshfowl's aim wasn't perfect, so while his head was spared it landed perfectly mid-center of his back. With a panicked squeak he flung his own berry into the air, more out of surprise then anything else, the berry he himself was hit with causing his own projectile to fling behind him in the direction of his attacker. Rolling over onto his back soft chitter he used this motion both to rub off some of the berry and turn to face the darker creature, now on his feet once again.
Great idea!

While her aim had not been true, it had found it's mark. The berry that the mouse had in it's hands when the impact happened came hurtling her way, albeit rather slowly. Despite this it didn't stop it from landing on the top of her head, flattening against the feathers and making berry juice slide down her face. Shaking her head and dislodging the tasty treat she smiled and looked around for the closest thing as she clucked at him.

Finding another berry she took aim and went to release, but not all of the berry had dislodged itself from her glossy feathers and it slid down into her line of sight just as she let it go. Clucking with dissatisfaction she gave her head another violent shake to remove the rest of the fruit.

Shadowed Moon was quite surprised when the berry landed directly on the marshfowl's head, it wasn't like he'd thrown it on purpose. Either way, is errant shot had landed, and the other creature was returning berry for berry. However, the marshfowl was temporary blinded and as such he was able to avoid most of it, the berry landing directly on the pale mouse's tail. By the end of this he wasn't going to be quite so pale anymore. Perhaps it was because everything seemed more playful then aggressive, or perhaps it was whatever had taken over the rest of the group, but the buck grabbed some squishy beans that had been to his side (the closest thing he could reach with his little hands) and quickly released them at his opponent before quickly turning to find something else to throw.

As she finished shaking her head she felt some beans collide with her chest and looked down to see them falling to the ground. Fluffing her feathers she pecked at one and ate it because why not, food was there, she was hungry and it wasn't hurting anyone. The bean wasn't the most delightful thing she'd ever eaten. Pecking at a piece of nearby fruit she grabbed it in her beak and tossed it at the pale mouse.

While searching around for something else to grab, the mouse looked back just in time to see a large (for him) piece of fruit flying his way. Luckily he managed to dodge most of it, though it did skim his back a bit, so Shadowed Moon grabbed as many of the crunchy seeds he'd just been looking over as his little hands could carry and proceeded to throw them one after another at the marshfowl with a chittering cry.

She clucked out a bit of a laugh as the mouse chittered and dodged the fruit. She went ahead and dodged the seeds before they pleted her face and looked around for something that was closest to her. A raspberry, flinging it at the mouse she scratched at the ground and fluffed her feathers.

The raspberry managed to slid itself right on the Shadowed Moon's face, like a mask, and he shook his head. Licking his lips to get the juice of his face, hands pulling the fruit off the mouse quickly threw the raspberry back at the marshfowl before looking around for something else to grab.

The raspberry hit its mark but then it appeared to be launched back her way quickly. The berry smacked onto the feathers of her neck and she looked around for something to throw and was successful in locating a juicy looking blackberry. Throwing it she watches as it soared through the air.

Shadowed Moon, though some strange mixture of luck and the marshfowl's aim, managed to catch the blueberry directly in his mouth. With a triumphant squeak the mouse quickly devoured the blueberry before grabbing an acorn and doing his absolute best to throw it, despite how bad a choice that was for his lithe frame the mouse didn't particular care, having gotten into the spirit of things and as such was now just enjoying throwing things around with his new... frenemy?

Despite its size; the acorn didn’t go as slowly as Stiry Untold would have thought given his size, but it also didn’t go that fast either. It hit her side, catching a wing and then rolled to the ground and she booted it away as she tossed a pine nut at him.

The mouse squeaked, excited over the smell of the pinenut, the distraction of which resulted in him being hit straight in the teeth with it. Painful, but the nut was just as tasty as it smelled, so it was worth it. Probably. Shadowed Moon could smell more pinenuts nearby, so he grabbed several, most of which went straight into his mouth before tossing some back at the marshfowl with a shrieking chitter as he franticly chewed the tasty morsels stuffed up into his cheeks.

Clucking she caught the tossed pine nut and ate it up happily. Their distinct flavor and scent was quite nice and she chuckled as she watched him eating up some more that were nearby. Grabbing a blueberry she gave it a toss. It was a juicy one too.
