Erratic's Naming Dreams

There she stood, in a clearing. The hum of the swamp filled her ears with a joyous sound the likes of which she'd never hear again. She looked up, then behind, and then finally she looked all around the edge of the clearing. She was alone.

The beautiful sound of the swamp grew and swelled within her, and she felt called to answer.

She raised her voice to the sky, and called out wordlessly.

When she stopped to catch her breath, the sound had also faded away. A deep emptiness filled her in absence of the song of the swamp.

But then, figures appeared at the edge of her vision. Others like her, and some less so. They stepped into the clearing, and she soon realized there were more approaching than she could comprehend. The hum began again. Softly, expectantly. They all looked to her.

She had answered the swamp's call, but in doing so let out a call of her own.
